Pilliga is an area west of the Great Dividing range in Central NSW. One of the dominant tress is a native conifer, Cypress Pine (Cupressaceae) but this painting is all about the flowering tea tree (Leptospermum).
As I walked down the dry river bed the insects around me were gorging on the sweet nectar of the tea tree on this hot spring morning.
